Description
Fender John 5 Ghost Telecaster
John 5 started out as a session player and went on to play with David Lee Roth, Mötley Crüe and Rob Zombie, and he has long championed the Telecaster. In October 2026 Fender announced three John 5 signature Telecasters: the John 5 Phantom, the John 5 Ghost and the Custom Shop John 5 "Phantom". According to Fender, the series keeps the classic Tele outline but rethinks it for hard rock with high-output pickups and a stripped-down control layout.
The Ghost Telecaster pairs an Arctic White body with a matching headcap, chrome hardware, red dot inlays, red pickup covers and a mirror pickguard. A maple fingerboard and a six-saddle string-through hardtail bridge focus on tuning stability and sustain.
DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers
DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers in the neck and bridge. According to Fender, they are voiced to match the impact of active pickups while keeping dynamics, for harmonically rich modern crunch.
Single volume knob and killswitch
A streamlined layout with one master volume knob, a 3-way toggle and a killswitch that cuts the signal while held, for stutter and rhythmic effects.
Hardtail bridge
A six-saddle Tele bridge with humbucker cutout and string-through-body design for stable tuning, accurate intonation and sustain.
