American Professional II is Fender's US-made professional series, launched in 2020 with updates to feel, pickups and bridge. This page covers the Stratocaster HSS with rosewood fingerboard in five colors: 3-Color Sunburst, Olympic White, Miami Blue, Mercury, Dark Night.
The HSS layout pairs a V-Mod II Double Tap humbucker in the bridge with V-Mod II single-coils in the middle and neck; a push-push Tone 2 control switches the bridge pickup between humbucking and single-coil tones.
Five Colors
All five have an alder body with gloss urethane finish and identical specs; pickguards differ: 4-ply tortoiseshell on 3-Color Sunburst and Olympic White, 3-ply mint green on Miami Blue, 3-ply black on Mercury and Dark Night (Dark Night also has black knobs and pickup covers).
Deep "C" Neck, Rolled Edges
Deep "C" neck with "Super-Natural" satin back, rolled rosewood fingerboard edges, 9.5" radius and 22 narrow-tall frets; a sculpted neck heel improves upper-fret access.
V-Mod II Pickups & Double Tap
V-Mod II Stratocaster single-coils are voiced for each position; the Double Tap bridge humbucker delivers humbucking tones and calibrated single-coil sounds at the push of a button. A treble bleed circuit keeps highs when rolling back the volume.
2-Point Tremolo, Cold-Rolled Steel Block
2-point synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles, pop-in arm and cold-rolled steel block, which Fender says increases sustain, clarity and high-end sparkle.
